The Northmont City School District is home and Mr. Thomas feels blessed to serve such a wonderful community with so many talented people on staff. Starting with the Board of Education, gifted teachers, caring administrators, a giving support staff, engaged parents, diverse students, and a supportive community this is a great place to learn, live and work. Northmont believes when students are engaged in the learning process they gain a deeper understanding that will prepare them for a bright future.

Mr. Thomas has his Bachelor of Arts in Comprehensive Social Studies from Ohio University and his master’s degree from Wright State. Principal and superintendent certification requirements were also completed at Wright State.  He completed the Ohio School Leadership Institute in 2012 and the Ohio Career Technical Educational Leadership Institute in 2001. Tony testified to Representatives of Congress in Washington D.C. and works with Ohio legislators on a continuous basis advocating for students and public education. He reports directly to the Board of Education and serves as the Board’s Chief Executive Officer. As superintendent, he supports administrators and principals in their everyday jobs so teachers can do what they need to give every student hope.  He also interacts with the community to make sure that the community is an integral partner with the school.

Tony is married to Shawn, the elementary principal at Brookville Elementary School. They have two children who graduated from Indiana University, and a son, a Northmont High School graduate who is currently attending Miami University.  Tony's hobbies include traveling, reading, woodworking, and spending time with his family, especially his grandson!
