On April 1, every teacher in the Northmont district will participate in the Cost of Poverty Experience, and we need YOUR HELP to be able to accomplish this important activity!
Our NEED: We need around 40 volunteers in the morning and 40 volunteers in the afternoon during our April 1st PD day. These volunteers cannot be district employees since staff will be participating in the Cost of Poverty Experience.
WHAT volunteers will do: They will be helping with the Cost of Poverty Experience (organized by ThinkTank) by playing the role(s) of various resources the participants will have. This will be things like the bank, community resources, faith center, homeless shelter, pawn shop, police/jail, and more. Here is a link to ThinkTank's website with more information: https://thinktank-inc.org/cope
Monday, April 1, 2019 from 7:30am-11:00am AND/OR 12:00pm-3:30pm
They will need to be available for the whole 3 1/2 hours. This time includes one hour of training and two and a half hours for the experience with the participants (our staff).
